Our Story

Many years ago, there was a small sewing factory in New Zealand. Life was ticking along nicely, until one day, an unusual question came our way:

"Would you be interested in making chainsaw clothing? We’ve tried, but the authorities are insisting on compliance to standards. We’re not up for that. Do you want to take it on?"

The answer at first? “Umm… probably.”

That “probably” quickly turned into a “definitely.” The challenge was simply too tempting. The thought of matching textile know-how against tough international safety standards lit a spark in our team. Before long, the factory floor was covered in fabric off-cuts, pencils were worn down to stubs, and a few learning trips overseas later, Clogger was born in 1994.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing. From the very beginning, our goal wasn’t just to make chainsaw gear - it was to make something extraordinary. Something that arborists would actually want to wear: protective, yes, but also innovative, comfortable, and tough enough to handle real-world conditions.

That vision took years to refine, but it’s what made Clogger who we are today.

Now, we’re proud to say that Clogger is trusted worldwide. Every day, thousands of arborists, tree workers, and even occasional chainsaw users step into our gear, knowing they’re protected by decades of relentless innovation.

What Drives Us

If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed since day one, it’s this: we’re never finished. Innovation is baked into who we are. We listen, we test, we learn, and then we make it better. That’s why arborists keep trusting Clogger — because our gear evolves with them.

The story’s still being written. And the best chapters are yet to come.

One More Thing

People often ask: “Where did the name Clogger come from?”

It’s simple — it comes from the “clogging” action of our fabric on a chainsaw. The name also nods to the forestry roots of the word “logger,” while the “C” in our logo cleverly represents the nose of a chainsaw bar.
